Exploration & creativity inspired by
American Girl Dolls
Camp Theme:
This girls-only STEAM camp is inspired by your favorite American Girl Dolls and their enthusiasm for making the world a better place.
Camp Activities:
- Girls got game! Step back into the 1970s with Julie Albright as we explore the history of girls in sports. Play games, design games and advocate for girls. Groovy!
- Are you ready for liftoff? Design, build, and launch a rocket just like Maryellen Larkin! We'll learn about the space race and the women that contributed to the success of the 1969 lunar landing.
- Listen up! We'll sing, dance and explore the music of the Civil Rights Era with Melody Ellison.
- Make it mini! Combine engineering and art to design a doll-sized chair. Craft accessories, including matching jewelry for you and your doll.

Camp Details:
- Location: Durgee Junior High, located at 29 E Oneida Street in Baldwinsville, NY
- Dates: August 10 - August 14, 2019
- Hours: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Open to girls entering grades 3 - 7 in September 2020
- Cost $85 per camper - (this cost includes supplies)
- A limited number of need based scholarships will be available - details coming soon!

GEMS camp is sponsored by the Town of Lysander Department of Parks and Recreation. To register for camp, please visit the Parks and Recreation online registration system. Camp Staff:
GEMS camp is run and staffed by certified Baldwinsville CSD teachers. Erin Robertson, a Living Environment teacher, and a NYS Master Teacher, facilitates the camp. Counselors include Meg Brody, Durgee music teacher and choral director, and Kristan Young, a Durgee staff member. Additionally, junior counselors, Baldwinsville female students with strong STEAM interests, serve as mentors and assist campers with activities.
